MEDINA -- Police say they are continuing to investigate after rumored threats involving a middle school in the district.
The rumored threats involving Claggett Middle School began circulating last weekend, according to a police release.
Police and school administrators are investigating the source of the rumors which are being rapidly spread by students via social media.
Officers were stationed at schools today and will be back in place Friday. Social media sites are being actively monitored and investigated.
Today (Thursday) graffiti was found on a bathroom wall at Medina High School. Police say this was, in fact, not a threat but initials of a group previously named in their investigation.
The district says schools will be open on Friday, April 20.
"Student safety is of the highest priority. Any individuals that are associated with these threats will be dealt with swiftly and appropriately," a district spokesperson said.
