The U.S. Secretary of Education has announced that Ohio will receive $21 million to continue work in turning around low-performing schools.
The grant, announced by Education Secretary Arne Duncan, is part of the School Improvement Grants program.
The funds are part of $535 million provided through the 2011 fiscal year budget and made available to states.
To date, Ohio has received $173 million since the School Improvement Grants program began in 2009.
