VERMILION -- Police say a death Tuesday night on the Norfolk Southern train tracks near Main Street and Sandusky was a suicide, involving a 16-year-old girl.
Norfolk-Southern contacted the police just before 10 p.m. last night after the teen had been struck by a westbound train.
Police say the Erie County Sheriff's Office received a call around the same time about a missing teen feared to be suicidal.
Police found the teen's car in a parking lot near the tracks. Her body has been turned over to a funeral home for burial.
