AKRON -- ODOT says the scheduled closure of I-76 West (Kenmore Leg) from June 1 through June 8 has been postponed until "sometime in August."
Instead, the opposite side -- I-76 eastbound (Kenmore Leg) between I-77 and I-277/US 224 will be closed starting on Friday, June 1 since ODOT says it's in a "little worse condition" that needed to be addressed sooner.
That stretch of roadway will be closed through Sunday, June 10 for crews to make bridge and pavement repairs.
The detour will be I-277/US 224 East to I-77 North to I-76 West/I-77 North.
The following ramps will also be closed:
Last week, ODOT reopened the eastbound side of I-277/US 224 after it had been closed for a month between I-76 (Kenmore Leg) and I-77. In a few weeks, ODOT will be closing that same stretch of roadway on the westbound side for about one month for repairs. That closure is tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 18.
