CHARDON -- After a year that included tragedy and healing, Chardon High School students now have something to celebrate -- graduation day.
Students walked across the stage in a commencement ceremony held at the Mentor Fine Arts Auditorium.

Students heard from Commencement speaker Lee Kamp, a Chardon High School alumnus (1974).
Kamp is known as one of the greatest wrestlers in history. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and was selected to coach the 2008 Olympic Wrestling team.

Students also heard words from their peers, valedictorians and their class council, who shared stories of the past as well as offered words of encouragement for the future.
Chardon High School's Class of 2012 included 265 graduates, 78 of whom received honors diplomas.
