LONDON -- Ohio athletes are competing for their shot at a medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Here's a look at some of the athletes still in action and how others fared this weekend.

Hiram's Bridget Franek qualified over the weekend and will race Monday for a medal in the finals of the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The race-just under two miles in length-includes a hurdle on each lap, one of which includes a water hazard.

Elyria's Tianna Madison just missed a chance at a medal--finishing fourth in the women's 100m.

Ashland's Kibwe Johnson finished in 9th place in the men's hammer throw.

Toledo's Erik Kynard advances to the Tuesday finals of the men's high jump. He qualified first in his group with a jump of just over 7-and-a-half-feet.

Holley Mangold finished 10th in her first Olympics in women's weightlifting (75kg+).

Also in action this week, Cleveland's Justin Lester will compete on Aug. 7 in Greco-Roman Wrestling (66kg).

Katie Bell of Columbus will see competition this week as the platform diving event begins with prelims on August 8.
