MENTOR -- A Mentor man was arraigned Tuesday morning and charged with the rape of a 10-year-old girl that he knew.
Police said they investigated a rape allegation made by the 10-year-old on Sunday and ended up arresting and charging Nathaniel D. Hall, 23, of Mentor.
He was charged with rape by force, a first-degree felony.
Police said it "the suspect was not a stranger to the victim."
Hall was charged with rape and arraigned Tuesday morning in Mentor Municipal Court.
If found guilty of rape by force with a victim under 13 years of age, it is punishable up to life imprisonment.
