Princeton, NJ (Sports Network) - Denton Koon scored a team-best 17 points as
the Princeton Tigers posted a 63-46 win over the Brown Bears in Ivy League
play at Jadwin Gym.
Ian Hummer accounted for 15 points and T.J. Bray 14 for the Tigers (11-7, 4-0
Ivy) as they ran their win streak to six in a row and won for the eighth time
in the last nine outings.
The Bears (8-11, 2-3) were paced by Rafael Maia who came up a rebound shy of a
double-double as he tallied 19 points in the team's second consecutive
setback.
Brown led by as many as six points in the first half, but the team ended up
hitting a mere 33.3 percent from the floor, compared to 54.5 percent for the
hosts as Princeton moved out to a 29-17 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Tigers again had the hot hand with 55.0 percent
accuracy from the field, including 4-of-7 behind the 3-point line, en route to
the 17-point victory.
Princeton registered just two offensive rebounds in the outing, but at the
same time played tight defense at the other end of the floor by holding the
visitors to just 1-of-12 shooting beyond the arc.
