CLEVELAND - A North Ridgeville man charged with bringing weapons to a Westlake movie theater has pleaded guilty to two of three charges against him.
The trial for Scott Smith began today. According to prosecutors, Smith pleaded guilty to a charges of carrying a concealed weapon. The trial on the charge of having a weapon under disability was continued to Wednesday.
Police arrested Smith in August at a showing of the Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises." Police say he was found with a gun, ammo and knives.
Smith's attorney had argued he had the weapons for protection in case someone tried to copy the attack at a Colorado theater that left 12 people dead.
Sentencing will be set for a future date.
