AKRON -- Kids from Berea High School took a trip outside their classrooms, and into their future.

Students thinking ahead to college, who might not otherwise have the chance to tour a campus, were taken on the trip by their high school guidance counselors and the leaders of a couple different school programs. The day was a chance to not only tour the campus but also a college fair.

Representatives from several dozen colleges were on hand to answer questions for students.

Berea High School Guidance Counselor Susan Kelley says that many of these students and their families believe that college is simply out-of-reach.

"For many students they were able to talk to admissions reps who could not only talk about their schools but financial aid, scholarships and money available for minority students," said Berea High School Guidance Counselor Susan Kelley.

Kelley says that many of these students and their families believe that college is simply out-of-reach.

Seeing the campus first-hand gave some students their first glimpse into what college life could actually be like.

Talking with admissions counselors opened their eyes to universities that they didn't know existed.

The National College Fair is coming to Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center on Sunday, April 22nd. Represntitives from 191 colleges will be on-hand.
