CLEVELAND -- A local woman known as a survivor and an inspiration to so many has won an award.
Laura Cowan suffered years of abuse from her husband and isn't afraid to break the silence today.
She is now a domestic violence advocate and recent winner of the Cleveland's Everyday hero contest.
