AKRON -- Judge Paul Gallagher sentenced John Pritchard, 53, of Akron, to life in prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
Pritchard will be eligible for parole after serving 18 years in prison.
On Oct. 9, 2011, Pritchard shot his ex-girlfriend four times after a dispute. He then took her car and drove to New Mexico.
On Sept. 17, Pritchard pleaded guilty to murder with a gun specification, tampering with evidence, domestic violence, and grand theft.
