ALLIANCE, Ohio -- A bomb squad defused a live pipe bomb in an Alliance man's driveway Thursday afternoon.
A man living in the 200 block of West Main Street discovered the suspicious looking device attached to his pickup truck in the driveway at about 1 p.m.
He had already pulled the device off of the truck before officers arrived, when officials determined it was a live pipe bomb with wires attached.
The area was secured and the Summit County Sheriff's Bomb Squad, as well as the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were called the the scene.
The device was soon disarmed safely.
Alliance Police and ATF officials are investigating the incident and ask that anyone with information contact Alliance Police.
