San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Matt Harrison tossed six strong innings and
David Murphy hit a two-run single to help the Texas Rangers take a 2-1 win
over the San Diego Padres in the opener of a three-game set.
Harrison (9-3) won his fifth straight decision as he gave up just one run on
six hits with two walks and four strikeouts for the Rangers, who have won four
straight and seven of eight. Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre scored in the win.
Jason Marquis (2-1) also pitched well, but it was not enough as he suffered
the loss in a two-run, five-hit outing. He walked three and struck out a
season-high 10 batters over seven innings.
Chase Headley went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the loss for the Padres, who have
dropped three of their last four.
