Stanford, CA (Sports Network) - Behind a career-high 29 points from Dwight
Powell, the Stanford Cardinal defeated the Denver Pioneers, 71-58, in non-
conference action at Maples Pavilion.
Powell shot 10-of-13 from the field and 9-of-11 from the foul line for
Stanford (6-3), while Josh Huestis added eight points, 10 rebounds, and two
blocks.
For Denver (1-5), Royce O'Neale scored 17 points, and Chris Udofia, Cam
Griffin, and Jalen Love each chipped in 10 points.
Stanford made 45.8 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half to
take a 35-19 lead at the break. Denver made just six field goals in the
opening 20 minutes.
The Pioneers outscored the Cardinal in the second half, 39-36, but it wasn't
enough as Stanford led the game wire-to-wire.
Stanford dominated the glass, outrebounding Denver by a 33-16 margin.
