Zagreb, Croatia (Sports Network) - Marin Cilic captured the Zagreb Indoors
title for a third time after easing past Austria's Jurgen Melzer in Sunday's
final.
The top-seeded native of Croatia needed just 67 minutes to dispose of Melzer
in a 6-3, 6-1 romp for his ninth career ATP title. He won three times last
year and improved to 9-7 all-time in finals.
Cilic also won this tournament in 2009 and 2010.
It was virtually no contest from the start, as Cilic broke serve once in the
first set and three times in the second. He blasted eight aces and won all but
eight of the 41 points on his serve.
Melzer failed to earn a break-point opportunity and won only 38 of the 100
total points played. He fell to 4-8 lifetime in finals.
Cilic, who earned a first prize of $100,000, improved to 7-2 all-time against
Melzer.
