Portland, OR (Sports Network) - The Portland Timbers announced late Wednesday
that the club has waived midfielder Franck Songo'o as well as defender Chris
Taylor.
"We would like to thank Franck for his service to the club last season," said
Gavin Wilkinson, Timbers general manager. "With the salary cap restrictions,
there are several difficult decisions the club has had to make and we wish him
the best."
Songo'o, 25, joined the Timbers before the start of last season. He went on to
make 25 appearances for the club, scoring one goal and adding five assists.
Taylor missed most of the 2012 season due to injury. The 23-year-old was
drafted by Portland in the second round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.
