Toledo, OH (Sports Network) - Matt Smith finished with 16 points as the Toledo
Rockets routed the Northern Illinois huskies, 70-46, in a Mid-American
Conference collision at Savage Arena.
Dominique Buckley added 13 points and Rian Pearson netted 10 for Toledo
(14-13, 9-6 MAC) which ended a two-game slump.
Aksel Bolin scored 14 points as the only player in double figures for Northern
Illinois (5-23, 3-12) which has lost nine straight.
In the first half Toledo shot 41.7 percent and hit four shots from 3-point
range. Northern Illinois had just seven field goals and went into the locker
room on the short end of a 34-20 score.
After the break the Huskies again managed just seven field goals while the
Rockets hit 42.9 percent from the field to coast to victory.
The Rockets outscored the Huskies, 30-9, from beyond the arc in the contest
while forcing 17 turnovers.
