I am thrilled to be part of the Channel 3 news team at such an exciting time for this amazing city! I began working here as a freelance reporter in February of 2016 and was hired as a multi-skilled journalist in July, just in time to cover the Republican National Convention.
I have moved all over the country pursuing a career in television journalism and every step along the way has taught me something new. Cleveland is my fifth television market. A week after graduating from West Virginia University I moved to Macon, Georgia to work at 13WMAZ as a multimedia journalist. I was soon promoted to weekend anchor. There I fell in love with Southern food, specifically fried green tomatoes and collard greens! I continued my southern stint at Newschannel 9 in Chattanooga, Tennessee where I produced and anchored the station’s 10 p.m. FOX newscast. The Scenic City is truly breathtaking. If you’re ever in the area I suggest you ‘See Rock City.’ Next, I headed west of the Mississippi to KTBS 3 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Strangely, I loved setting my alarm for 2:30 a.m. and waking before the sun to anchor the morning news. The Arklatex will always hold a special place in my heart. That is where I met my husband. Before coming to Cleveland I made a stop in my home town of Pittsburgh, PA, reporting at WPXI Channel 11 News. It was wonderful to spend more time with my family and friends while living and working there.
I'm blessed to say my life has been full of interesting people and unique situations. I'm a PK, the daughter of a Lutheran minister. My only sibling, Will, has a disease called Tuberous Sclerosis. It's affected his brain and caused him to have a severe intellectual disability. Growing up with Will taught me to be patient and kind especially with those who the world may view as different. I myself am a little different, having had two leg-lengthening procedures on my right leg.
While not at work I enjoy visiting locally-owned restaurants and breweries with my husband, walking in the Metroparks with our dog Macon, trying desperately every day to fit in a devotional and, of course, shopping.
