Lynna's Life Hack: Easy peeling tricks
CLEVELAND -- Do you wish you could peel fruits and vegetables faster?
We have a couple of "a-peeling" tricks to save you time.
If you need more than just a few garlic cloves, put the whole garlic bulb into the microwave for 20-30 seconds on the high setting. You may have to experiment, because the time varies depending on each microwave, and the size of the bulb,
While the bulb is still hot, use a knife to trim off the base and loosen the cloves. You should be able to squeeze and pop each clove out of their skin.
After a little practice, I was able to peel an entire head of garlic in less than a minute.
Utilizing a hot-cold bath makes peeling many thin-skinned fruits a breeze.
For peaches, cut a small "X" in the skin. Then drop the peaches in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, depending on the size of your peaches.
When you see the skin around the "X" start to curl, take the peaches out and plunge them into a bath of ice water. The skins should be easy to peel with your fingers.
In no time, you'll be ready to bake your peach pie!
