Sara Shookman is an Emmy-award winning television journalist, glad to be working here at home in Northeast Ohio. You can find Sara co-anchoring WKYC's 11 p.m. newscast with Russ Mitchell and regularly reporting from around the region. She joined the Channel 3 News team in 2012.

Sara's become one of Channel 3's go-to storytellers, covering local, national and even international news. She was the only local reporter to cover the 2014 Winter Olympic Games live from Sochi, Russia. She's often covering the big story and has filed reports around the country for stations within WKYC-TV's parent company, TEGNA.

Her reporting on Ariel Castro in the moments after his arrest helped WKYC earn the 2013 Emmy Award for Best Newscast. She was part of the Channel 3 team that brought home that award again in 2014. In January 2014, Cleveland Magazine named Sara one of the city's most interesting people.

Each week Sara and Channel 3 News producer Danielle Sills produce Take 3, a Cleveland-centric news and culture podcast you can find in the podcast app on your smartphone or here on
