A candlelight vigil was held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Midview High School football stadium.
Superintendent Bruce Willingham issued the following statement Tuesday:
"The Midview Family is devastated by the loss of one of our students, along with the serious injuries sustained by another. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of these two students. We are respecting their families' privacy while providing counseling support and resources for those who need it. It will take time for us to heal as a community. I ask that you continue to keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
A GoFundme account has been created to help with the family's funeral expenses.
