Despite the chilly weather now, it's not too early to start thinking about summer in Cleveland.

The BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival is set to return to downtown Cleveland on July 22-24 as a newly imagined hybrid outdoor and virtual event under the guidance of public health advisors.

This year's performances to take place on open air stages, green spaces, and other outdoor locations that will allow for social distancing. The festival will also host interactive and virtual options to be enjoyed remotely, as well as site-specific experiences.

The "fringe" portion of the festival is your opportunity to showcase your talents as organizers are looking for performances that are suitable for outdoor and open-air venues, as well as street theater, buskers, and virtual productions.

Among the possible genres: Theatre, Physical Theatre, Dance Theatre, Circus, Cabaret, Children’s Theatre, Solo Performance, Performance Art, Puppetry, Immersive Experiences, Musicals, Multimedia work, Spoken Word, Roaming Performance, Stand Up Comedy, Streamed or live-streamed digital work, Audio Plays, Site-Specific performances, and more!

The deadline to apply is Friday, March 5. Click here to learn more and submit your free application.

Organizers say the festival is a paid opportunity. BorderLight provides venue and operations support, and artists are compensated through a box office split, with 70% of box office proceeds going back to artists.
