With their 2022 opening day less than three months away, Cedar Point is now hiring with 6,500 seasonal jobs available.

“Seasonal associates will earn $15 per hour for most non-tipped positions,” Cedar Point officials said in a press release Tuesday morning.

That starting pay marks a $5 dip from the $20 hourly rate Cedar Point offered to employees last year amid staffing issues at the start of the 2021 season.

3News received the following comment from Cedar Point's Tony Clark regarding the starting pay: "In 2021, our rate was $15 per hour for most positions, with a $5 per hour appreciation incentive. Associates who worked with us last season who return within six months are receiving $20 per hour in 2022."

Cedar Point opens for the 2022 season on Saturday, May 7.

The park previously announced they are going cashless for the upcoming season. How will the cashless system work?

“For those guests who may not have credit or debit cards, they can convert cash to prepaid debit cards at the cash-to-card kiosks stationed around the parks,” Cedar Fair spokesperson Gary Rhodes told 3News in an e-mail last September

He added that cashless transactions are faster, safer and more secure.

"Guests can spend less time in the check-out waiting on change and more time hitting up their favorite rides or other attractions," Rhodes continued.

Ticket prices at the gate, meanwhile, have increased by $10 to a price of $85 per person. A new culinary location is also under construction where the former Antique Cars ride operated in Frontier Town.
