GO-HIO | All aboard the Polar Express

While the Polar Express has been cancelled last minute due to the pandemic surge, we visited the historic train to share the Christmas magic with you.

All aboard! We are hopping onto the Polar Express and heading to the North Pole. Unfortunately, a surge in COVID cases has shut down the Christmas train for the rest of the year, however we were invited to capture the magic aboard the train in order to share it with you.

CUYAHOGA VALLEY SCENIC RAILROAD

This railroad is the only non-profit scenic heritage railroad that operates in a national park: Cuyahoga National Park. They offer a variety of train rides all year long, but one of their most famous rides is the Polar Express. The train is decorated for the holidays with singing, dancing, and hot chocolate. 2020 will be a different year without the train operating, but the railroad is exciting for their train rides coming up in 2021.

The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad does not just have some trains, they have historically famous trains that used to be luxury rail cars on cross-country railroads. You get to step back into history by hopping aboard. Some of the railcars come from the California Zephyr, which was a high-end train servicing Chicago to San Francisco in the 1940s and 1950s. Most of the railcars from this train are gone these days.
