NEW YORK CITY -- Congratulations, Hoda Kotb!
She has been named Savannah Guthrie's new Today co-anchor.
“This has to be the most popular decision that NBC News has ever made,” Guthrie said during the show Tuesday morning.
Kotb takes the role weeks after long-time co-anchor Matt Lauer was fired amid sexual misconduct allegations.
Kotb, who has been with NBC News since 1998, is 53.
