In 2010, Shane Haddad was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 3.

Shane's parents, Eric and Amy Haddad, have helped fight this battle with Shane since he was diagnosed. Eric and Amy understand the challenges that families face when you have a child with cancer.

With this thought in mind, Eric and Amy decided to create Shanerock.

On Sunday, more than 1,100 families from all over northeast Ohio came to support the Haddad family through rain and shine to take part in the first ever Shanerock Run at St. Ignatius High School.

Shanerock is an organization that aims to help support families who have kids going through cancer. The foundation also collaborated with Running with the Cats, an organization that runs with special needs runners.

"We wanted to support a great cause like ShaneRock and the Haddad family and families who are struggling with pediatric cancer," said participant Eric Running.

Shane’s mother tells us she’s thankful for the support from friends and family and looks forward to next year’s race.
