SANDUSKY, Ohio -- It is heartbreaking when a child is the victim of a crime. It's also extremely tough when they witness one.

Any sort of comfort can be helpful, and that's exactly why Stefano Dental is teaming up with the Sandusky Police Department to collect stuffed animals that officers can use to bring kids comfort.

“Kids are in crisis, and it’s a very traumatic experience and they always relate well to an officer if they are giving them something,” said Police Chief John Orzech.

You can donate stuffed animals now through the end of February at the Stefano Dentist office, 1617 W. Bogart Road, Sandusky, OH 44870.

“The goal is to get 100 stuffed animals,” said Dr. Lata Stefano.
