PARMA -- One of the hottest toys this holiday is Hatchimals.

The more you nurture the colorful egg, the faster the animal inside pecks its way out.

Friday morning the Toys “R” Us in Parma didn’t have any Hatchimals in stock, which retail for $69.99. However, store employees were able to show our Channel 3 crew their animal that’s already hatched. They named it “Gidget.”

It’s unclear when the toy might be back in stock at the store, but there have been similar situations at other retailers across the country.

“The Hatchimals are the biggest craze this year,” says consumer reporter Aditi Roy. “I talked to a manager at Toys “R” Us and other analysts and you just can’t find them anywhere.”

Customers looking for the toy say they’ve found resellers trying to get upwards of $300 for Hatchimals online.
