NEW YORK -- Authorities say one person was killed and two people were critically injured when a New York City bus and a truck collided in Greenwich (GREN'-ich) Village.

Fire officials say two other people suffered minor injuries in the crash, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at 14th Street and 7th Avenue.

It wasn't immediately known how many people were on the bus or what caused the crash.

TV reports show that the collision sent both vehicles onto the sidewalk, into scaffolding and into a building.
