AKRON, Ohio -- An Akron man was arrested Saturday, after allegedly biting a mail carrier when a check he was expecting wasn't delivered.

Police say Robert Kiefer, 25, assaulted the 56-year-old postal worker with pepper spray before biting him in the leg three times, police said.

Officers found the men in a fight at the intersection of Kling and East Thornton streets, with a small crowd gathered.

Police say Kiefer attempted to resist arrest until officers subdued him with pepper spray.

Kiefer is charged with assault and resisting arrest.
