Canton Police officials investigating after finding man shot, killed

The Canton Police Detective Bureau has identified, arrested and charged a minor suspect with murder.

CANTON, Ohio — Investigators with the Canton Police Department are investigating today after discovering the body of a deceased male early Saturday morning. 

According to officials, the incident began around 12:40 a.m. when officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Gilbert NE for a call of a person shot. 

Upon arrival, police located a 51-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man, who has since been identified as Terrell Lipkins, was taken by CFD Medics to Mercy Medical where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Canton Police Detective Bureau has identified, arrested and charged a minor suspect with murder.

The case remains under investigation by the Canton Police Department and anyone with information should contact officials at (330) 489-3144 or (330) 649-5800.
