15-year-old girl among 2 arrested in weekend Coventry robbery

The girl was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, possession of drugs and receiving stolen property.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Two people have been arrested – including a 15-year-old girl – in connection with a weekend robbery in Coventry Township, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Chaffin Road at approximately 5:20 p.m. Saturday. Authorities say the suspect vehicle was then located by patrol deputies and stopped for further investigation.

The vehicle that was found had previously been reported as stolen and had fictitious license plates, authorities said. Inside the vehicle there were also two loaded firearms recovered by authorities.

Kyle Hockman, 26, of Akron, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated robbery, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. He was taken to the Summit County Jail.

Hockman was not alone in the car, as authorities say he was with a 15-year-old passenger. After further investigation, the girl was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, possession of drugs and receiving stolen property. She was taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
