State troopers confiscate $1 million worth of marijuana in Summit County

AKRON, Ohio — Troopers with Ohio State Highway Patrol confiscated approximately $1 million worth of marijuana during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon. 

According to reports, the diver was stopped around 12:20 p.m. on the Ohio Turnpike in Richfield after she failed to stay in marked lanes.

Inside of the vehicle, officials discovered about 750 pounds of marijuana inside of the woman's trunk, the amount being worth approximately $1 million. 

The driver, a Colorado native, was charged with felony drug charges. 

Just three days prior, troopers found a car in the same vicinity on the Turnpike that had 20 lbs of marijuana in it, Ohio State Patrol Spokesman Sgt. Ray Santiago. 

The vehicle in this case was involved in a crash and became disabled on the near the Boston Heights area. As troopers took inventory on the disabled vehicle, they found the marijuana.
