PARMA -- A Parma man remains in police custody in Buffalo, New York as he awaits extradition to Parma, where he is accused of killing his own sister.
Mark Shankle, 54, is accused of killing his sister, 55-year-old Vicky Zabala, inside their Torrington Avenue home Friday.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a call from Zabala's sister, who told dispatch Shankle committed the crime.
Police determined that Shankle was a possible suspect in her death and immediately began searching for him. Shankle was living at the Torrington Avenue residence with his sister at the time. Investigators tracked Shankle down to a location in Buffalo, New York, where he was taken into custody by the Buffalo Police Department.
Shankle is facing aggravated murder charges.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner is still determining Zabala's cause of death.
