Garfield Heights Police are investigating a shooting that took the life of one man and injured another at Skills Barbershop Tuesday evening.

Police held a press conference at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday to provide an update on the incident.

Police say that the suspect walked into the Skills Barbershop at 5629 Turney Road with a small child and had the child get a haircut. When the child's haircut was done, police say Charles Davis, 29, walked into the barbershop. The suspect recognized Davis from a previous interaction and the suspect pulled out a gun and began firing at him.

Davis was hit several times and a man, 21, once hit once in the leg. Police say Davis was taken to Marymount Hospital where he died. The other man was treated and released.

After the shooting, the suspect grabbed the boy and ran from the barbershop.

Police said that Ohio's Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now handling the shooting. Police ask that anyone with information to come forward. or call 216-475-5686. You can remain anonymous.

Police think the boy may tell someone about what happened and they ask if anyone hears anything from the boy, to also call police.

Police say they believe the boy is in danger and in the company of a cold-blooded killer. Both Davis's mother and uncle pleaded with the public to come forward if they know anything.
