Suspect arrested after shooting man in head while playing with gun

The victim is currently in critical condition.

A Medina man was arrested late Tuesday night after police say he shot a man in the head while both were playing with handguns.

Officials say seven young adults were drinking and playing around with the firearms at a home on the 500 block of West Exchange St. in Akron. They were apparently pointing the guns at each other's heads and placing them in their own mouths.

During the spectacle, 19-year-old Dominic Radesic allegedly pointed a gun at a person's head and pulled the trigger, shooting him in the head. Witnesses say Radesic then fled the scene before officers arrived. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m.

The 20-year-old male victim, also from Medina, is currently in critical condition at Akron City Hospital. His identity has not yet been released.

Police later found Radesic at his Medina home, where he was arrested and charged with felonious assault, tampering with evidence, weapons under disability, and obstructing official business. He is currently in custody at the Summit County Jail.

In addition to Radesic, police also arrested 24-year-old Rick Oberacker at the scene of the crime. While they were conducting an investigation, detectives claim Oberacker grabbed one of their tape recorders and began screaming at them. The Medina native is charged with misconduct at an emergency.
