NEWCOMERSTOWN, Ohio -- A manhunt remains underway after two men shot a Newcomerstown police officer in Tuscarawas County late Tuesday morning.

One of the suspects was originally identified as 28-year-old Chaz Gillilan.

Just after 1 p.m., however, police confirmed Gillilan was cleared of any involvement, which means both suspects remain at-large.

The officer has been identified as Bryan Eubanks.

It happened during a Tuesday morning traffic stop near the intersection of Johnson Hill Road SW and Post Boy Road SW. Police say two shots were fired from the driver's side vehicle as Eubanks approached.

One of the shots struck him in the right arm.

Eubanks was treated and released at a local hospital.

Authorities issued a statewide alert to find the suspects -- one of which was wearing a tactical vest.

Officers believe the vehicle was a suspected mobile meth lab. That vehicle is described as a black Geo Tracker with a hard shell on the back, wide tires, no license plates and dark-tinted windows.
