CHARDON, Ohio -- Students at Chardon High School are getting an extra day off school Thursday because carbon monoxide was detected in the building.
School officials announced around 11:30 a.m. Thursday that the school will reopen Friday, after assessing the air quality is now safe.
Students who were already at the building were taken to the middle school where parents can pick them up.
Police and fire crews responded to the scene.
The source of the carbon monoxide is unknown.
