YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Former Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel is expected to be introduced as the 9th president of Youngstown State University, where he started his college coaching career.
Tressel is expected to attend the school's board of trustees meeting at 6 p.m. Monday and then have a news conference at 7 p.m., according to The Vindicator (http://bit.ly/1uTHh8Q ).
The board voted unanimously Friday to offer the job to Tressel, who said he was "honored and privileged" to accept it. The terms of his contract were being negotiated.
Tressel had been an administrator at the University of Akron for the past two years and was also a finalist for the presidency at that school.
He was forced out as OSU coach following a scandal in which players sold memorabilia for cash and tattoos.
