No charges against Elyria student for Snapchat post

Police determined there was no credible threat to the school.

ELYRIA -- Police have not charged an Elyria High School student for a Snapchat post that sparked an investigation early Thursday.

A student showed his parent a Snapchat photo of another student with lyrics to a Spanish rap song which translate to being a solider "and none of you are going to kill me. My gun is half ugly and I'm not afraid to die. I am waiting for you to get up and go for me. My rifle is the one that will put you to the test of you."

The Snapchat post also said, "I'll translate: 'no school tomorrow.'"

Police and school administrators quickly identified the student. Detectives searched the student's home and found no weapons.

The student told police he never added the line that said, "No school tomorrow." Police confirmed this and determined an unknown subject added the text.

No charges were filed.
