Aldi recalls apples due to possible listeria contamination

According to Aldi, the apples were sold in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina and North Carolina beginning on December 13.

BATAVIA, Ill. – Aldi, in connection with Jack Brown Produce Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of several varieties of apples sold in their stores due to possible listeria contamination.

According to Aldi, the apples were sold in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina and North Carolina beginning on December 13.

The following products are affected by the recall

Fuji Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code: 033383087139

Gala Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code 033383086897

Golden Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code 033383081175

Honeycrisp Apples, 2 lb. bag, UPC code 079954000015

Honeycrisp Apples, unpackaged, PLU sticker 3283

In a press release, Aldi also said the apples were available for purchase to customers in the Atlanta, Georgia area through the store's partnership with Instacart grocery delivery.

The company said that as of Wednesday, no illnesses have been reported in relation to the affected products. No other Aldi products are affected by this recall.
