The superintendent did clarify that the student was not in school on either Friday, October 16, or Monday, October 19.

"We have begun working with Summit County Public Health to determine the contacts of this student. Summit County Public Health (with our assistance) will notify contacts of students who test positive for COVID-19," Clark wrote in his letter.

Due to HIPAA and privacy laws, the school is unable to report the name of the student who tested positive, but they have made contact with anyone who was in close proximity to them.

According to the Nordonia superintendent, the student will not be permitted to return to school until 10 days after symptoms first appeared, and must not have a fever for at least 24 hours.
