PAINESVILLE -- The families of three students shot and killed at Chardon High School two years ago today and a survivor of the attack sued the Chardon Schools, the Board of Education and many of its administrators in Lake County Common Pleas Court just after 1 p.m. today.

Russell King, the father of one of the slain students and one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, was found dead inside his home today.

The lawsuit alleges that the school district ignored the dangers that at-risk students, like the shooter TJ Lane, posed to others.

The lawsuit described Lane as mentally unstable and at high risk for committing violent acts.

The district was accused of failing to provide proper security when they were aware of the unacceptable dangers.

The Investigator Tom Meyer will have the story at 6 tonight.
