3News' Jason Mikell visits Luca's Barkery: New In Town

Bakery or barkery? A look inside Ohio City's newest pet friendly shop is sure to be a treat for your furry friend!

CLEVELAND — When you think of a dog store, whether it's a place to find wet food, dog food, healthy foods, freshly-baked treats in-house, or even accessories, you rarely think of one that is planted in the heart of a metropolitan city with locally-sourced food items.

A full-service store, Luca's Barkery is center in the Hingetown neighborhood of Ohio City.

"The passion for dogs and the passion for people" is what owner Tony Rini says sparked the idea for the barkery. "We bring in quality products and everything that we would feed our Luca, we feel comfortable feeding other dogs" says Rini.

Additionally, Tony and his fiance Jennifer Bowling also have created a small section for cats as well as clothing merchandise.

"We carry a lot of things from jerkys to great training treats...a lot of our primal stuff goes real well, our Orijen, our Acana, our raw bar for sure, and we have a variety of toys."

Interesting to note, most of the baked goods are gluten-free and also grain-free! A gift section also adorns a portion of Luca's Barkery with Soul Mutts apparel that donates to a different organization every month and the donations are matched!

You can find Luca's Barkery at 2929 Detroit Avenue open from 10a-7a Monday through Friday, 10a-6p Saturdays, and 10a-5p on Sundays. Also, don't forget to take a selfie on the selfie wall. Jason's little Pepper approves!
