An Akron man was indicted in federal court for selling fentanyl that caused a fatal overdose earlier this year, law enforcement officials said.

Federal officials said Steven D. Daniels, 31, was indicted on one count each of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and distribution of fentanyl. The latter carries a sentencing enhancement because Daniels allegedly sold fentanyl that caused the fatal overdose of a person identified in the indictment as T.B.

The overdose took place April 2 in Akron. according to the federal indictment.
