The Summit County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people who allegedly assaulted a 20-year-old man with developmental disabilities.
Authorities claim staff members at a residential facility brought the man to the facility's basement and hit him several times with a broom handle. The victim supposedly had eaten a sandwich belonging to a staff member.
Twenty-three-year-old Dominique D. Gladney (the facility's home manager) and 43-year-old Octavious L. Thomason (the program director) were arrested Wednesday, followed by 26-year-old Mennyon Davis on Thursday. All three have been charged with assault and abduction and are currently in the Summit County jail.
Officials say more charges are pending in the case. A new provider has since been appointed to head the facility.
