When officers arrived at the scene Monday night, they found a man in the street with a gunshot wound to the head.

AKRON, Ohio -- A 24-year-old man is dead following a shooting during an alleged altercation in the 700 block of Danmead Avenue in Akron.

When officers responded around 9 p.m. Monday, they found a man in the street with a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim, identified as Keith Johnson of Akron, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say preliminary investigation has revealed that a 40-year-old man found his stolen Yamaha dirt bike for sale online. The bike was stolen from his unlocked garage and he later found it for sale on Facebook.

The man and his father-in-law, identified as 63-year-old William M. Knight of Streetsboro, set up a meeting with Johnson to buy the bike back. When the trio met, a fight broke out and the 40-year-old bike owner attempted to grab the bike.

Johnson attempted to flee on the bike and started to drive at Knight, who pulled out a gun and shot him.

Knight is charged with involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault.
