AKRON -- Police have issued an arrest warrant for Ernest McCloude following a shooting at midnight Thursday.

About midnight, a man, 34, reported that he was shot in the leg outside an apartment in the 1700 block of Dominion Drive following a verbal altercation.

The victim jumped into a vehicle with a woman and she drove him to Akron General Medical Center. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

A suspect has been identified and a warrant for felonious assault on Ernest McCloude has been signed.

Detectives are asking for the public's help in locating Ernest McCloude, 28, with a last known address on Deering Drive in Akron. McCloude is 5'7" tall, weighs 170 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

McCloude should be considered armed and dangerous.
