AKRON, Ohio -- The community has rallied together.

A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family of those killed in Monday’s deadly Akron fire on Fultz Street.

The post, which was created by Brittany Boggs, had a $35,000 goal. That total was quickly surpassed with donations reaching nearly $44,000 by 9 a.m. Wednesday.

“On May 15th 2017 I lost everything and everyone I had. My mom, step dad, cat, dog and my 5 younger siblings in a house fire,” Boggs wrote on the GoFundMe post. “I have nothing towards their funeral expenses and desperately need all of you guys help. Im reaching out to everyone to get the help I need seeing I have to bury 7 people. Please if you could donate anything to me as this time is very rough I will appreciate anything!! Please share.”

The Huggins Family also has a GoFundMe page that is accepting donations for funeral expenses and to assist with expenses to support the surviving family members. CLICK HERE to donate on that GoFundMe page.

While authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze, fire department sources tell WKYC it possibly sparked by hot charcoal from a Mother’s Day barbecue.
